you don't come across as condescending at all. got a buddy who owns a saab shop and if he hadn't just left town for two weeks, i'm sure between his brain and mine we could figure it out (sometimes another eye/brain can be very helpful.) if i'm measuring 12 volts at the injector, i think the ecu is trying to keep the injectors open as long as it can. i have run new wires from the ecu to the injectors (power and ground) and it made no difference. i have double and triple checked the ntc circut (replaced the connector pins, and measured resistance at the ecu.) from my knowledge of the system, if it does this cold, it can't be the o2s, as the car is still in open loop. i have noticed that it seems to run ok for the first one or two seconds after it starts, but by the time the idle stabilizes, it's smoking again.. i really appreciate the suggestions you've made, and will post a note when i fix the bastard....
