Adding a LPT setup...some questions... Posted by JustinHiFi [Email] ![]() ![]() |
Well I scored a complete setup (manifold, downpipe, turbo, mounts, intake box, intake piping, intercooler, all fittings, SPG spec injectors, water/ oil piping, and other odds and ends) from an '88 SPG. They are being shipped soon :-) Anyway, I had a few questions for the install...
1-Wastegate: I am going to use this to set max psi of 5. What is the best way to dial the rod in/out to the correct setting?
2-Gaskets: Need to order new gaskets and such. I know I need exhaust manifold gasket and downpipe to cat, what else?
3-Where will I hook up all the vaccuum hoses to? Is there a diagram that has been developed to aid in this?
4-Blow Off Valve: I believe that this is commonly called a hooter valve here. I was wondering if this was able to be upgraded, to a louder sounding and faster reacting one. My friend has a '94 RX-7 and I love the sound from his, even at 5spi (he runs 18psi lol). Are most of these BOV's generic in their setup?
Thank you.
