If you can run summer tires (not all-season), take a good hard look at Pirelli P-7000. I have a set on my SPG and absolutely love them, wet and dry. Good adhesion, lots of feedback as you start to near the limits of adhesion, and then very predictable loss of adhesion. For street and highway use, I give these at least 9/10.
Keep lots of air in 'em; I run about 38 lbs per tire for general use.
