This car should not be that much faster than a 250 hp aero, but it seems like it post much better 0-60 times. Sport Compact Car also says that torque steer is almost nil and the car launches easily. The car rides on 205/50r 17 tires and weight is just under 3000 pounds. SCC claims that have a long and relatively narrow contact patch is what makes this car easy to launch and torque steer free. A 205/50 17 would have a longer contact patch than a 205/50 r15. I wonder if any one has tried this with their saabs. We always talk about getting more grip by going wider, but not by going longer. Does anybody have any idea of how to measure the increase in contact patch? Let's say going 10mm wider vs keeping the same width to aspect on a wheel 1 inch larger in diameter. I know this would throw off the speedo, but I always felt like my c900 and 92 9kt could benefit from longer gearing.
