Some coworkers all brought the "toys" to work today so we could cruise out for lunch. On that way back, we're lined up at a red light. Front car is a warmed over small block '66 Vette; I'm second in line w/my '68 427 Vette. Green light, clear road ahead, we pull away gently then '66 jumps on it. I figure "oh why not" and floor it (from 30mph or so). I'm gaining on the '66 ever so gradually when I look in my mirro and notice the third car simply pull into passing lane and roll on past me! That's not a common experience for me when I've got the Vette floored. Then my brain reminded me that his Superformance Cobra has 2 simple advantages... more power and less weight. Let's see 500ft-lb torque in a car weighing roughly same as my wife's Civic... OK I don't feel bad anymore.
Just a reminder... no matter how fast a car is, there's always another one that's faster.
