Hello Patrick, I'm assuming you have a pre-'90 Classic 900T (Carlsson) in which case your flywheel would be the same as an '85 900 flywheel. Saab went to a larger clutch with a bigger bolt pattern in '90 which is the same pressure plate as the earlier 9000's. I have a 9000 Carlsson so when I see that description my first thought is a 9000! Try to find a shop in your area that can lighten your flywheel without leaving sharp corners by using a cutter with a large radius for finishing those areas. It's also a good idea to shot peen a flywheel after it's been lightened and of course it has to be re-balanced. A lot of weight can be removed on the crankshaft side in a lathe using conventional methods but more weight can be removed on the other side in a vertical mill with a rotary table by milling in-between the clutch mounting holes and dowel pins outboard of the friction surface. If you send me an E-mail I can send you a picture of one machined in a vertical mill that you could have a general machine shop go by. The tricky part is leaving the timing marks intact! Dave
