I will probably be intalling an on-hand TurboXS unit today. It is too large to install with the piston face against the pressure as it will interfere with the metal over the rad and the engine movement on its mounts will be a bad combination. So I will mount it 'cross-wise'. This will also help resist being pressured open and none of the spring washers should be needed for that purpose. But the washers could be use to control at what vacuum that it opens...
I will need to cut off some of the 25mm aluminum hard pipe (return) to accomodate this valve which is quite big in size compared to the OEM and other aftermarket units. The design has a longer spring chamber for a longer spring. This allows the valve to open faster than a short spring.
This old unit from my killed 95SET showed no problems with lubrication or movement after been in use and never being cleaned and lubed. There is enough PCV oil in air to keep things lubricated. I guess I don't like the implicatations of having to use the right grease on the other valves and having to re-lube or worry about how the valve works in cold weather.
A note about some very lengthy 'studies' on the web comparing different BPVs. I think that there are some totally wrong assumptions about the effects of 'reversing' the valve orientation. So think about such statements for yourself.
I will report on the install etc later on.

Stock everything except for a 'series mounted MBC' which is working out to be something that I have to recommnend. Throttle response is much better. My wife is liking it too.
