Has anyone replaced their F-pot with one of higher resistance? I am curious as to whether this will create higher boost through the upper rpm range. It is a very cheap and easy thing to do, I am just curious if anyone has had success with it.

I ask becuase I raised my base boost again last night, from 6 psi to 7.5, incidentally, the limit that my wastegate control rod will allow- I was hoping for more. At the previous setting, the boost would climb to 18-19psi (upper gears) and settle down to around 16 for the duration of the pull. Now it climbs (more quickly) to 20-21, but settles (more slowly) down to 16-17. I contend that the boost decline is not due to engine knock, but perhaps the APC settings. There is no fluctuation on the A/F gauge upon pressure decrease, and it settles more slowly than it does when knock is detected. I am hoping to see the boost settle to the 18-19 range by spending some time with a soldering iron. Feasable?

Are these pressures out of the scope of my current setup? I wouldn't think so based on what it has done with the stock fuel system, but any opinions are welcome:

1991 SPG 178K
K&N Hot Air Intake
Spearco FMIC- 2.5in piping throughout
Brad's AID, timing set at 19btdc
Magnecor Wires
7EV plugs gapped to .028
2.8 bar fpr
30lb/hr Accel injectors
400 ohm R in AMM wire (lower=CEL, higher= bouncing idle)
Bosch BPV
2.5in High-flow-cat-back exhaust

My only other guess is that I am pushing my poor little turbo way past its efficiency range; temps are up, flow is down. How much sustained boost are people getting out of the stock mitsu turbo?

Thank you for listening to my concerns, My GF is buying a 2000 9-3 base today and I can't be the owner of the slower car ;o)
