93' 9K Intrax springs/stock shocks.... bad idea? (long)

I own a 1993 9K CSE. Where I live, the roads are harsh, still i bought the Intrax springs for my car and left the stock shocks. Since then, I have bent 2 17" rims and the car makes a lot more sounds while driving. I have several questions.

1. Will the chances of bending rims be reduced and the ride quality improved if Koni sport adjustables are installed?

2. If I decide on installing the Koni sport adjustables, and I am not satisfied with the ride quality, could I still use the Koni's with the stock springs?

3. How do I remove the parts needed from the stock shock, in order to intstall into the new Koni's?

4. Do I need, or should I cut the bump stops inside the strut if I put the Konis with the Intrax or Stock springs??
