Generally speaking a Saab is real close from the factory but it's still a good idea if the pistons were changed and of course the flywheel had to be balanced after being lightened. I would like to think that a shop that goes through the balancing process would appreciate an engine that's so closely balanced from the factory and would make it even better like we do. It is good that the '91 your looking at probably had the lightened flywheel balanced on the crank rather than separately on a balancing fixture because Saab flywheels have to (if balanced separately) be balanced with the flywheel dowel in the flywheel because Saab balances their cranks without the flywheel dowel in place because of their unequal 7 flywheel bolt arrangement.
