In '94 Saab went to a different timing cover area of the block and head, I've heard this called the "short engine". Obviously you can't interchange things from up to '93 to '94 and up. I believe that '94 to '98 years are pretty interchangeable but I'm not sure what all interchanges to '99 and up. Remember that the real late blocks stand up instead of being designed from half of a V-8 like Saab started out to get the low hood clearance they were looking for in the model 99's. Maybe ask Brad about the 1999 up cars but he's been real busy lately. Dave
