You have a T5. You can install a MBC, bypassing the BPC and will be able to boost to around 15 PSI.

With a T7 you cannot do that, you would have to install it in series, (SMBC). This is also an option for any T5.

A SMBC leaves the BPC in control of peak boost pressures, but greatly decreases boost lag. You may also be able to increase the boost a bit in the 1st two gears as well. For a SMBC, get a dawes MBC and block off its bleed port. Install between the turbo compressor hose barb and the BPC valve. Usually the hoses that come with MBCs are too small for Saabs and cannot be used. 1/4" VAC line from the hardware store works great. The install is very easy and a definate DIY. Start with the SMBC at a very low setting. Open fully and blow through it and turn the adjuster until the flow is cut off then perhaps 1/2 turn tighten than that. I always suggest to never cut the OEM hoses so that you can revert to stock easily. After intallation, drive around and see how it works, and increase the SMBC setting until things get more interesting. I think that you will want to adjust to the point where you are not loosing traction at the front wheels because of wheel spin. That is greatly determined by what tires you are running.

Don't get a MBC option for hoses etc, they will likely be too small.

When using a SMBC or MBC the boost will come on faster and the Bosch EOM BPV might not be fast enough. If it starts to make silly tooting noises, you will want to replace it. Metal piston type BPV's sell for around $140

The SMBC will make your vehicle faster, but will not increase peak boost if adjusted correctly.

Many NG900 and 9-3 folks have installed MBC, bypassing the BPC valve. The power is also then increased. For a well maintained engine there does not seem to be any problems. But a low restriction exhaust and intake is strongly recommended! However, as fun as all of that is, there are some issues with boost overshoots, fuel cuts and pressure droop that have to be dealt with. The SMBC installs do not have any such negative aspects that I can see.
