I had the Volvo IC installed for awhile in my 87 SPG. The 740/760 IC's are the same, but when you get one, try and get the piping for it too, if you plan on making your own pipe system (this was one of the many reasons I took mine out). My SPG had the A/C removed, so I can't comment on that, but it does fit without the A/c very well, up in front of the rad. I just made two little hooks that bolted to the sheetmetal up there and held the IC on from the bottom. (Another reason my installation was so ugly!) When doing this FMIC, it makes a lot of sense to rotate your turbo housing about 180 degrees so it faces downward, then you have to figure out how to get piping in between the exhaust bracket and some other stuff down there. On my set up (like Tandino's), the piping actually goes under the car, which made for some interesting encounters with curbs, speedbumps, etc. The TB sid eof the piping was done simply by turning the stock pipe downwards, and connecting it to another volvo pipe that goes into the IC. If you have any more questions, I can try and clarify.
That being said, I wasn't as impressed as I thought I might be. At highway speeds, I think the car wanted to go more with all that airflow, but not all that noticeable. Others have had better experiences. On my next SPG (hopefully an 85-86) I will do another FMIC project, but maybe with a better core, and with the older style car , you may not have to hack up the bumper as much (yet another thing i regretted shortly after installation). Good luck, guys.
