Group 9 Performance Chip

I just installed a used, but good, DI chip and a fuel chip that is maybe as much as five years old. The chips were made by Group 6 Performance. The instructions specify adjusting the wastegate to acheive a max boost of 1.1 bar from 3-4K, then boost is tapered to One BAR from 4-5K, .9BAR at 4,5-5K and .8 BAR above 5K.
I have set mine to 1.3 BAR (vs 1.1 recommended) max and wonder if I have gone too far; and if not, where should I stop? Is 1.4BAR reasonable? My car is a 91 9kt and I have 136k on the engine and had the head gasket replaced at 65K and all new Balance and timing chains, gear and guides at 120K. The engine is solid but I would like to see 175K - 200K from the engine.
One other question: Is it reasonable to expect that the fuel chip would minimize the likelihood of any piston meltdown due to the chip's richer mixture at the higher boost levels? I won't try to implicate anyone if some advice goes awry; since if left to my own devices, I would not stop until I burnt out a piston.
Thanks,
Dan
