Hey Mike,
I had my TDO4 discharge housing powder coated last year for cosmetic reasons, and after all of the heat and punishment, it still looks fresh. That part of the turbo always has air going through it, so I guess it can handle the heat better. The same can NOT be said of the exhaust manifold and turbine housing. It get's too hot for Jet-Hot. Instead,I had the turbine housing ceramic coated in a special high-temp, turbo-specific black color that has held up to "glowing red" temperatures, and doesn't turn chalky white. I have been quite pleased with this coating. I had jet-coat done to the ex. manifold and it lasted about 2 weeks! Too damn hot for the pretty silver. I have before/after pics I can show you. You might want to look into a thermal boot for the turbo as well. You can buy one from a company called DEI(not the race team) for about $70. It's a good idea to keep the heat inside the turbo to increase scavenging, but not the inside. It just won't do enough and it's fairly risky to do anyway. If you want, drop me an E-mail and I will give you the info on the race shop that does turbo coatings here in Charlotte.
