I've owned 5 classic 900s all manuals and this is the fastest one I've ever driven (all manuals) but it's not mine. I'm just wondering what's been done to it-if anything-here is a record of the other fast ones (not gonna list the slower boys) and what I've done:
87 900 turbo 3door-rebuilt top end (stock) rebuilt tranny-K and P pot adjustment 1/4 turn clockwise, large intercooler ductwork, K&N filter charger, that's it but it was much faster than stock.
84 900 turbo 3 door-bought for $300 with guage set and ground effects (wheel bearing going as well as tranny, totally trashed) but FASTER than my 87 and it is an 8valve.
89 900 turbo 4 door-faster than both with the intercooler duct work-K&N-and K-P pot adjustment.
Now for the dilema
Roommates 89 900turbo convert is so damn torquey in low end that it breaks them loose in 2nd and 3rd and pulls WAYYY past the 4 door 900 with all the adjustments!
Ductwork, airintake is all stock but I've noticed that the APC box IS MELTED! I'm thinking it's wastegate adjustment but I just can't beleive how fast this thing is.
What do you guys think????
