I am about to put a turbo on my 1990 9000s. Same motor basically, at least same idea. Really there is not a ton of difference, the oil taps are already in the block which is not true of almost any other car. The cooling system should already be able to handle it. Ive talked to some people who run turbos on previously n/a cars and say that even the stock n/a injectors flow rates will just keep up with the turbo, although id get injectors. I just bought a 1987 9000 turbo parts car so i have all the parts right in front of me so converting is no big deal. Its a rewarding project, but as Andrew says...it is usually cheaper and way way easier to just buy a turbo car. besides, with your engine you wont be able to run over 8 lbs of boost because the compression is higher than in the turbo cars. this means leaving boost dumping up to mechanical means--no apc install which i guess is nice, you just use the wastegate basic boost preset. dont be surpised if you blow a head gasket if you put a turbo on, the high compression is not a great environment for tons of relative compression during boost. one nice thing about converting n/a cars, if you keep the tranny it has closer, shorter ratios in the box so you will get outstanding acceleration and less downshifting, although your gas milage will suffer. have fun though and i wish you luck
