I checked it out for the 2000+ 9-5 Aero's
Not your application. And I compared to speedparts.
The torque for the powerchip peaks at 2200 RPMs and stays flat or bit less out to the red line. The peak torque is 288 ft-lbs. Speedpart gets 330 fl-lbs for stage I/II upgrades. Speedparts is 275HP, P.C. is 282HP.
So, for this application, speedparts will be quite a bit faster. It is possible for two engines to have different torque curves. And if each had the same torque at around 5500 RPMs, they would have the same peak HP. But the one with flat torque will be slower compared to the one that gets higher torque through the midrange RPMs.
So about the same HP, the P.C. vehicle will be slower than the speedparts vehicle.
So which really has the higher PEAK HP, 275 VS 282 claimed? Depends on which dyno was used for the test, and the fuel used, plugs used, oil used, temperature, humidity, altitude/pressure. So thats an unknown. But for this application, the powerchips mod is not going to be as fast as the speedparts mod.
Powerchips states that you do not need to upgrade your vehicle intake/exhaust. Perhaps, if that is the objective, the flat torque of the P.C. product is appropriate.
