Series MBC install VS Regular install
Regular install takes the BPC out of the loop.
On a regular install the MBC is positioned between the turbo compressor and the WG, therefore the bleed orifice is required to do exactly what you are saying needs to happen, once off boost, the back pressure needs to go somewhere...that is when the bleed orifice is essential and the pressure is bled out through that port.
SeriesMBC install will put the MBC between the Turbo compressor and the BPC. The BPC still has it's original line to the WG. Therefore,tThe BPC will still actuate the WG and still bleed off the back pressure when off boost allowing thre WG to close.
SMBC needs to have bleed port blocked with a mild setting to just allow for better spool up with affecting top end boost. Without the bleed port blocked, the trionic could read boost pressure incorrectly throwing a CEL because boost pressures will be off, too high.
I am guessing you have a t-7 engine which therefore doesn't allow for a regular install correct? If so, a mild setting is also required due to the many sensors the t7 has that would put you in Limp mode home.
Hope this helps...
