The rotors were upgraded to larger units in 1997. I am unaware of any retro fits.
I found EBC greenstuff pads worked very well on my 95SET. Others recommend Porterfield pads. I don't know where you would get those. Perhaps someone will post a source.
With decent pads, you will be able to develop the tractive limits of the tires. So the results depend on the tires. Don't go nuts about changes to the braking system unless you are prepared to run really good performance tires. The braking performance, wet and dry, are altimately determined by your tires, not your brakes.
It does not make sense to spend big money on brake hardware on a 94SET. Aftermarket rotors are very affordable. You could get grooved/dimpled/drilled rotors as well. But these have no advantage unless you would be otherwise getting gas fade on overheated pads from repeated agressive braking.
Do you need any DIY info?
