I made a spreadsheet (link) to determine best shift points for max thrust. Input data points picked from a dyno or a published engine torque curve, and gear and tire data. For C900, the final drive ratio must be multiplied by the primary ratio (.84 etc) to get accurate speed and axle torque values. But, as long as correct gear ratios and torque/rpm data is used, valid shift points can be determined.
If the torque curve is nearly flat to redline, then it's best to redline each gear. If the torque curve falls off at high rpms, then the calculator graph will show the best shift points to keep axle torque the highest, for best acceleration.
