#1. If the spring rate is too stiff for conditions then the tire does not comply with the road. A softer spring rate usually produces better lateral force over uneven road conditions.
#2.It does not create that much negative camber just making the balljoint longer because of the arch of the arm at ride height.
#3. Caster gain is not a bad thing. It does also promote anti dive during braking. For manimum perforance caster can is not a must. Getting a better camber gain in body roll is more useful. The goal is to keep the tire vertical when not cornering for maximum accleration, front drive car, but yet have proper camber when the body rolls in to the turn.
The is a few books that can help. Steve Smith Autosports I think is the name. Good reading to get started but not the only source.
On the rules is that the attachment point at the body. If so changing the front arm mount that bolts to the body should be legal. The bolting place would remain the same just the adapter to the arm is changed. I love rules they make cheating so much fun.
