I drive a bone stock Viggen. Rarely dip deeper than 1/2 throttle in 1st gear, and only full throttle in 2nd or 3dr after I'm rolling along fast enough that I know I can floor it with minimal tire spin. I've often thought that if I gave the car another 30-50hp I may not use it anyway because WOT in 4th or 5th will reach stupidfast-license risking speeds quickly. You raise an intersting point. If you install a stage3 ECU and then routinely push it to only 7/10 (vs the 9/10 you demanded from it stock), it may very well adapt to that and soon deliver performance much like that of a hard-driven stock Viggen. Hmmm.
Anyway, my understanding is you don't so much "clear" it as give it something new to "learn"; ie drive it hard. Search this bb and the 9-3 bb for past posts. I recall reading that it may take 7 on/offs of the ingnition, driving the car hard each time for maybe 100 miles or so. What I've done on occasion is roll along at 40-50mph in 3rd, then floor it and hold it to 100mph or so. Do same in 4th/5th demanding max boost. I guess is needs a series of these to notch up it's learning a bit at a time until it learns how much boost it can deliver without getting into engine damage. Be sure you're running the best fuel when you do this also.
