Performance Mods in UK; help I知 scared! Posted by paul [Email] (#792) [Profile/Gallery] (more from paul) on Mon, 19 Mar 2001 10:33:49 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I知 looking to get a bit more sporty on my classic 900 1993 T16S Convertible with one of two specialists in the UK. I知 looking for great handling with mild thrills however, and I知 certainly concerned when I read what an untamed beast the 9-3 Viggen is; doesn稚 seem like fun to me, and we get a lot of rain here! This will be the most powerful car I have ever driven by far, and if I do go up to 220bhp, what lies in store? I don稚 mind a drive that needs a bit of working at, but I dont want a car that always turns you into a rally driver just to go down the shops.
It would be great to test drive such a car, as you would with a new car, but obviously this is not possible with these sort of mods. Any opinions, good or bad, from anyone who has done this?
TRENTSAAB.co.uk recommend a "Stage 1" conversion kit: APC upgrade, FSE power boost valve, 0.5 bar Garrett wastegate, wastegate mount plate and modified rod end, stainless steel exhaust system, anodized aluminium recirculating dump valve, dump valve mounting kit. They quote 225bhp as a result.
ABBOTTRACING.com list a bunch of things on their site, including much of the above, with no particular recommendations. A replacement intercooler seems to be high on their list thought, although trentsaab do a fancooler kit, they do not include this in their 'Stage 1 " kit.
