Thanks for the thoughts. I'll pull the plugs and see how they look. They are pretty new with less than a thousand miles on them prior to this weekend's trip. And the turbulent wastegate flow is a concern... I'm debating what kind of turbo to put in when the OEM Garrett gets its well-earned retirement.
Meanwhile - - Are these symptoms consistent with a weak link and/or failsafe in the system? I.e., can the boost be forcing open the wastegate or blowing past the hooter? Would either of those cause the sensations previously described?
