I run a 60 trim compressor using the nissan housing & the .63 turbine housing I friggin love this setup
I would advise you do this yes it will be a lil more laggy I make full boost by like 3300RPM
when you start to mod your car you create more flow & the tiny .48 turbine housing becomes restrictive sending the exhaust pressure & EGTs way the hell up there
so if you want quick spool up & allot of torque run the stock turbo but it will run out of steam at about 4700RPM
the biger compressor alone works pretty well but what you will find is that the WG will actualy start to get blown open as the exhaust pressures overcome the spring tencion in the actuator so you will have to add springs tighten the actuator (SLIGHTLY)or get a better actuator
this is a good setup for moderate tuning you will get verry little noticable lag increase & it wil run out of steam a lil later in the RPMS
running the .63 turbine housing will allow you to move the meat of your power up a few hundred RPM which ultimatly will produce more HP if you can tune it properly so it realy depends on what you want I feel you cant have that 2500 RPM surge & stil make the big clidesdales up high in the RPMS & if you want more HP higher in the RPMS you have to give up power on the bottom so you just drive with the motor wound up a few hundred RPM more for the instant boost you get with the smaller turbo
basicaly I think that no matter what you get about a 2KRPM area between max torque & highest HP the longer you are willing to wait for the power the more you can make so ultimatly you would want your HP curve to ramp up to like 6Krpm with the max torque around 4Krpm its also nice to have a few hundred rpm over max HP so you can get into the meat of your power or near in in the next gear
using a bigger exhaust system more flowing IC & air filter boost timing & fueling you will make more HP with less boost at higher RPMS this is also a lil more gentle on the trans because its that low RPM WHAM!type boost that kills traneys I like the way my boost comes up over 4Krpm I get instant boost & it pulls like hell to the revlimit
thats my 2 cents
