If you were happy with stock power, it would be much easier to install the same turbo. In my opinion, the best and easiest upgrade turbo would be one from a 9000 aero. I was looking into it for our 92 9000T but went with stock. I know the oil lines were different between the two. "Excessive boost" is relative to which turbo you have. Your stock T25 is way too small to handle anything more than stock boost. There's no way I'd put a full T4 in your car unless you have a quarter pounder to eat while waiting for spoolup. You may want to give group9 a call. I see they list upgrade turbos on their site. Dave at group9 knows his stuff.
