The header is a high quality piece that you can clearly see on Nick Taliferro's post on this thread a few days ago. It is heavy wall 304-316 grade stainless (high nickel). All of the studs had to be removed from the head and the turbo for installation. The porting I did opened up the turbo flange to the main inlets for the turbine wheel. This turbo has two fairly small ventura shaped openings into the turbine wheel. I would surmise what I have done is remove an new area that would be very turbulent to a smooth flow. The airsupply pipe to the turbo and the pipe from the BOV have approximately 3-5 mm clearance , the tubes will require serious heat shielding. I cleaned up the threads in the head and hand tightened the studs into the clean threads. I had to use two bolts in an almost inaccessible location. I am going to reuse the factory heat shield with a slight modification. I have my down pipe wrapped with header wrap and aluminized tape to the back of the converter. I feel this works well with flow and underhood temperature control.
