I will be using a later (86+) intake cam, which has all equal lobes, in an 85 head, which has the equal intake ports.
Basically, SAAB has always (at least with the C900 series) that the air needed to be swirled to better mix fuel and air. In the earliest (85) 16V head, they used equal intake ports, but offset cam lobes (every other lobe is 3mm shorter) to swirl the air. This is great for MGP, etc. but the 3mm less lift would (presumably) cut down on top end flow.
The later cars (86+) use equal lobes, but offset intake ports to get the swirling effect. I will be using the later cam, with the equal lobes in my head, with the equal ports. Should be somewhat of an improvement before I can find a 2.1 liter.
