And again, these were the bushings that mount the axle to the floor pan. The rear sway bar simply stiffens the live axle and there are no rear sway bar bushings.
Those axle bushings will reduce axle deflection at the axle to floor pan mounting points. So you get reduced axle twist deflection and less movement of the axle in its mounts. Some rear axle deflection can have a positive effect on steering. A bushing can have cavities or soft spots to engineer different deflection in different modes.
