i am on my 3rd engine (1st engine died when adjustable cam gear spun and broke timing chain, cracked block, bent 14 of 16 valves, etc., 2nd rebuild was short lived as bottom end noise developed as a result of con rods not being resized by machine shop, 3rd engine still in and good). all three went through break in periodof regular penzoil dino oil changes at 250, 500, 1000, 2000, 3000 and then switch to mobil 1 synth at 5000.
aside from stated above (unrelated) this has worked well. make sure cylinder walls are not lubed up with anything other than a little dino oil upon assembly. if too thick a lube is used, or too slippery, the rings won't wear correctly and seat right.
