john I just finished up with buying/fitting my second set of wheels on my
900 SPG, which has the same bolt pattern as your 9000 Aero.

There are lots of wheels available, you just have to know where to look!

For starters, Tirerack.com has many, but don't bother entering "Saab" in the car look-up function. Enter 2000 Ford Focus, that has the same 4 x 108mm bolt pattern. There are a ton of 17 x 7 wheels and most even list the weight.

Team Dynamics has a few wheels with 4 x 108mm wheels in offsets that are close. I have a set of Pro Race 1's that are 16.5lbs each in the 17 x7 size, 42mm offset so i use 3mm spacer in front and 5mm spacer in rear.

The Centerline "Dominator" series are very lightweight (13.5lbs for 17 x 7") and have 40mm offset and the right bolt pattern. See centerlinewheels.com for info. The best prices for those are from Summitracing.com.

Generally speaking you will have to use a spacer to correct the offset, as these "non-saab application" wheels usually have 40-42mm offset, and your Aero wants something like 35-38mm. Spacers are available at most tire/wheel shops for about $5 each, but if you need more than 5mm you will lose the hub-centric feature, then you need the speedparts spacers (7-10mm) which have their own centering nub.

Also, these wheels may have a centering hole that is too big for the Saab - 65.0mm. My Team Dynamics wheels came with a plastic snap-in ring that reduces the 73.3mm hole to 65.1mm for a perfect slip-fit. For another set of wheels, I had a machine shop machine aluminum rings and pressed these in to the wheels for a permanent fix.

You may have to (or want to) switch to a stud-and-nut setup. There are stud kits available in the M14 x 1.5 size from H&R, in lengths from 40mm to 60mm. Best bet is to call the H&R help line on their webpage, and get the exact part number of the set, then call any local H&R distributor and order it (you can't buy directly from H&R). You can also get conversion studs that are M14 x 1.5 on the car side, and 1/2" or M12mm on the wheel side. This smaller size will make it easier to fit the wheels if the lug-holes are recessed at all.

Bottom line, you will have to do a little research and digging to get exactly what you want, but you will end up with exactly what you want! If you rely on shops/companies to tell you what will just "bolt on" then you are stuck with Ronal and a couple other wheels...(blech).

Good luck!

PS - the engstrom stage IV box is the shit, but should be followed with a clutch upgrade, as the torque output is phenomenal and it just overpowers the stock clutch.
