2.0T head to 2.3 non-T block?

Salutations:
I've picked up a OK 94 NG900 2.3 5 speed to replace a recently bent but really well running 89 9000T automatic and was wondering if it might just be possible to bolt my old 2.0 head/turbo/plumbing to the 2.3 non turbo NG engine. Neither machine uses a DI unit - the NG900 is motronic.
I realize that there is at least a substantial compression difference and thusly I would have to dial the boost back considerably with a mechanical dump valve/boost controller and I'm guessing I have to work out how to retard the ignition too - perhaps the distributor from the 2.0 would be enough?. I've seen fully mechanical turbo systems (on old yankee iron) - but haven't ever set one up.
I'm not sure if this would possible with a motronic system - but as I am really only looking to boost the stock 2.3 block just a few pounds I am wondering what might be possible short of swapping out the 2.3 engine for the whole 1989 2.0 engine/electronics..
Experiences? Links?.. No post too long - no details to insignificant..
