The 3" duct mod is a permenant change, but you can do it in such a way that there will be no need to return it to stock. Some have used plastic paint when they have finished and made it look so good, only a skilled person would ever know. Besides the fact that it only makes things better. If done properly, there should be no increase in take noise. The materials for the Duct will cost you less than $5. Your time to do it will be a couple of hours.
The TBTC is the "Throttle Body Transition Casting" which is the metal casting connected to the top of your Throttle Body. The casting has many flaws the largest one being a blunt end that meets up with the IC hard pipe. That blunt end needs to be ground down to match the inner diameter of the IC hard pipe. No money involved, just a drill with some good sanding drums (i used a dremel) and a bunch of time.
You Intercooler most likely will be the doublepass IC. You can tell by seeing where the hoses are going into and coming out of the IC. If they are both on the same side, both on the drivers side, then it is a double pass IC. You will need to locate the turbo and follwo the pipe underrneath the car to the IC. There is a hardpipe under there between the turbo and the IC. That is where the discharge silencer is. You can remove that hard pipe and you will find a baffle in there. Remove it by either prying back the tabs or break the tabs off anf pull it out.
A MBC can be found from many sites. The Dawes Device is one of the most popular here due to its reasonable price, and good working ability. They are $42. I can make them much cheaper, e-mail me if you're interested.
I have never dyno'ed the car so I don't know what kind of increases you will get out of it but rough guess would be a 20-30hp increase.
As for the DI's, they are long prone to failure. Many strange things have happend when they have gone, including toasting a cat, better to have a spare then to pay big when it goes...What's you mileage? Manual tranny or auto?
