Hi All:

(I actually lost sleep over this the first night after only a short drive to the store, wondering if it was a "break-in" thing)

I just took delivery on Wednesday night of my new '01 9-3 SE 5spd. Everything is perfect......BUT........after driving it around the next day it was obvious that it did not have the acceleration of my wife's '99 9-3 S 5spd! I noticed that when acclerating agressively in 1st gear that the boost gauge barley goes into the yellow and not for very long. Also a problem in other gears, but most noticable in 1st. Also sometimes in First when I wind it out to maybe 4k RPM there is no obvious turbo pull (as I LOVE in my wife's car). My SE just doeesnt have that smooth turbo pull through the rev band. And especially the feeling of it really showing itself around 2500RPM. Just seems very flat. Not that nice linear pull we all love up to whatever RPM you take it.

I am taking it to the local dealer on Monday (I bought it from a dealer I've used before, who is a few hours away). I'm sure they will get it fixed. The car still moves pretty good, but not *at all* like it should. Any ideas based on my description, so I can maybe point them in a viable direction? I'm only a little bummed as the car is beautiful! Laser red w/ grey leather. I know they will get it straightened but I just wanted to get some ideas from you guys. I'll post a full review of the car on the 9-3 forum when I get it back and it works properly. Damn the car is gorgeous, though!

Thanks in advance.

GO SAAB!

Steven
