I want to build an additional injector controller.
Similar to MF2, 3D mapping good, but not absolutely necessary if it involves programming or anything else beyond my ability/free time. I understand that I must control duty cycle per rpm (or perhaps 500rpm as the case may be), and it must be adjustable from near 0% up to 80%.
I know a 555 timer will vary frequency via different impedances, but is duty cycle also variable? If not, which chip would you recommend?
What are the specs of the injector output (SAAB red ones, for simplicity's sake)? Voltage peak-peak? Frequency? Amplitude?
In what form is the RPM signal directly available? I know I can obtain it as a pulse, but is a direct varying voltage present anywhere?
To amplify the injector output, would an op-amp work, or do I need more sophistication?
Thanks,
Andy
