on my 1993 9000 CSE, which is fitted with Abbott springs, Konis and various poly bushes. Previous tyres were Pirelli P6000, which I liked but tended to go off with anything more than three-fifths wear.
They have lots of grip, and are excellent in the rain, though they can still break loose on really slippery roads. They feel more comfortable than the Pirellis but I think this is down to floppier sidewalls, so I have put up the pressures to say 38 front and 36 rear: this is with 205/55 16 Aero wheels, by the way, so you may have a diferent experience with lower profile tyres. This improves the steering response and they are still giving me a softer ride.
It's reported that they use more fuel (the Pirellis are low rolling resistance) but after a service I now find my economy pretty reasonable so can't substantiate this comment.
On balance, I find them a little "clumsy" in that the steering response is still a bit flabby, but they hang on like grim death. Have to say that this is not everyone's experience, and I do quite like them but would probably look at Bridgestone S0-3 next time despite the shorter life.
In return - tell me, how do you like the Eibachs? I'm considering moving out of the Abbott springs into something a litle more sophisticated and I understand Nordic Uhr still supply Eibachs for the 9000, though they are not listed any more with Eibach themselves.
