More parts for modding a 9-5, more advanced 9-3...

There is a lot of aftermarket support for the 9-5, as there should be since the car has been out for several years with no significant changes. The new 9-3 is a completely different vehicle and has very little aftermarket support. I think problems people have seen with the new 9-3 are over-rated, but who am I to say, I just own one. You will have to wait for most aftermarket bolt-on parts for the new 9-3, or make them yourself.
With regard to the differences between the 2.0t and 2.0T engines in the new 9-3, it is more than just boost pressure. First, you need to understand that the T7 and T8 equipped cars are primarily limited by maximum mass air flow (torque), not maximum boost pressure. You can hit max torque in these cars without maxing out boost pressure. Next, if you like shifting your own gears, you can only get the 6-speed in the 9-3 Aero (5 speed in Linear and Arc, and 9-5 Aero). The engines have different turbos, different injectors, different piston rings, and different software that I know of - there could be more. Converting from a 2.0t to a 2.0T is not impossible, but I think you could spend your money elsewhere.
If you want more power for your money, and you want it now, then get a 9-5 Aero. You get 0.3 Liters more displacement and a slew of aftermarket parts. I chose otherwise, but that's just me.
