Personally, would suggest you do the dampers and bushes (perhaps leaving rubber on those for the front anti-roll bar) but leave the springs alone.
I fitted Abbott springs and Konis about eighteen months ago and I'm considering putting back the Aero-spec springs I used to have. The car is tremendous on smooth surfaces, and makes mincemeat of roundabouts and so forth, but there is too much joggle over poor surfaces, including some motorways (concrete espcailly) and this gets very wearing. This is on 205/55-16 tyres on 6.5" Aero rims, by the way. I reckon softer springing plus the Konis may be the way to go.
People swear by Eibach springs but the only way to get these seems (someone correct me if I'm wrong!) to be to buy a Roadability kit from Nordic Uhr.
Tyres make a lot of difference, too!
