Hey Andy,
My custom radiator is 8" tall by 26" wide, including end tanks. The tanks are baffled for a "Z" flow of the coolant. The width is 4-rows, so the radiator is twice as thick as stock. However the cooling ability is not as good - I've lost frontal surface area, so not as much air passes through for the cooling effect. And I don't have those dual-OEM fans anymore, I had to downsize the fans to fit.
There is some temperature creep on hot days 85F+ when I'm driving in stop & go traffic. Otherwise it's fine - freeway, racetrack, etc. If there is sufficient airflow, cooling is great. I've started a project to block off openings in front end to direct all available air into the radiator & IC cores to make sure that they get all the air possible, and I'm also considering swapping out this rad for a custom aluminum version in the same size. I like the idea of an extractor built into the hood, behind the IC. That would look pretty bitchin' too!
