yes the center section can be.... Posted by jak [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Ford T-bird turbo on SPG..., Tyler, Fri, 26 Mar 2004 17:00:54 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
clocked from both sides
the .63 turbine housing is AWESOME it causes more lag but greatly reduces exhaust backpressure at higher boost levels & the compressor is a 60 trim T3 basicaly thats what I run it is a great turbo
some of the older ford turbos used a slightly larger diameter turbine wheel which is a lil heavyer & slower to spool up
loosten the 6 bolts going into the exhaust housing from the crnter section side you may be able to wedge a couple of these bolts (oposite each other) against the center section by backing them out to break the 2 loose from each other but be careful not to cock it too far to one side as you will bind up the turbine the turbine housing will stay in the same position as its bolted to the manifild but you can rotate the center section to get the heat shield, oil,& watter lines lined up
the other problem you will run into is that the ford center section uses tapered threads instead of banjo bolts for the watter fittings but I had one on my car a while back & the banjo bolts threaded in & heald fine for me (just pay atention)
take care
