I reconnected the new MBC with the larger outlet. Cranked it all the way in and took a ride including some highway.
Boost was back to normal. 1/2 way into the red at best.
I was forgetting the temps here as well. SID shows 90 degrees so the heat has some effect as well.
So my next test will be to make up another MBC with the larger outlet and not cut off the end. I will leave it a little longer than the stock inlet and see how that goes. For a while, I sent folks the MBC with a little washer inside as to make it hold the maximum amount of boost and still have room to improve so fuel cut could be reached. Some found this to be too much and removed the washer. So the added length of te larger outlet elbow might allow for a little more for folks who need it. I find that I need to have the dawes adjusted all the way in now so the added material will allow for a slight bit more even though it is not needed for most folks.
This will work and I believe will work well. with the use of the MBC+A kit it is not as necessary as I am using smaller hoses than the stock size but for folks who just want an MBC, he major complaint of the MBC, the outlet nipple being to small, will be eliminated. This could very well be a major plus for the design. This is good news!
I will need to test another one on an automatic so maybe Stalker or JohninATL can help me out with that testing.
We're getting somewhere...
