I switched my '90 C900 over at 120k with no leaking problems at all. (Now, it did leak a bit before I switched over, but it didn't leak any more afterwards.) I also agree with Alex that an Auto-Rx treatment is in order. I just finished a 5k mile extended cleaning cycle in my '90 (at 170k), & the small leak I've still got has nearly stopped completely. The only thing it hasn't stopped is the seep from the valve cover gaskets, but I think those gaskets are still the original so they have to be like Bakelite® by now. After my 5k mile extended rinse phase (with Delvac 15W-40) I'll start using M1's new 5W-40 & see if used oil analysis warrants 20k mile changes (with a filter change at 10k miles).
I'm still in the cleaning phases on both the '85 8v C900 & '99 9³, but I'll put the '85 on the same oil/schedule as the '90 (they're both n/a engines) & the 9³ will get 10k mile oil & filter change intervals with M1 5W-40. I'm using 5W-40 for the turbo 'cuz I want something a bit more durable than the 0W-40. It takes me over a year to put 10k miles on the car & winters are cold here (Northern CO). I'm using 5W-40 in the C900s so that I only have to keep a single oil on hand (otherwise I'd use 0W-40 for 20k miles in both of these cars). If I lived in a warmer winter climate I'd only use M1 15W-50 in the turbo.
