if it makes you feel any better, i started rebuilding a turbo engine last august. from machine work to waiting for parts, to finding time to put everything together, it finally went in in february. i did what jeff is considering, i purchased a used engine for cheap and then rebuilt it myself. it really helped on the downtime. the only reason i was down for a week was because i had to turn the 900s into a turbo, wiring, additional components, etc. but i also had lots of help. btw, when you do get it back, the recommended break in period is 3000 miles. i wouldn't start jumping on vette's until she's ready. wouldn't want to ruin the time and money spent so far. anyway, be patient, it will all come to a close eventually.
