I have a stratmosphere/forge bypass valve and I have disassembled it before and also tried changing its orientation, and neither of these ideas helped.
Here a little more detail from driving around today.
1. The boost is wicked slow to come on building in a very linear but very slow fashion, no matter what rpm I am at. And without fail it hits this high yellow point on the gauge and that is it.
2. The turbo sounds like it is making big boost because when I go WOT there is a whistling/spooling up type of sound and then the light duck call sound that my bypass valve makes when I let off.
So I am going to check the wastgate rod, maybe there is not enough spring pressure on it anymore to hold past whatever amount of boost I am making. I was also going to look at the intercooler inlet and outlet to make sure those aren't torn or something wierd like that. I am thinking about going to a shop and having them use one of those smoke machines to look for leaks in the system because I am stumped. I know there is more in there because I can't keep up with cars that I should be able to and have been able to in the past. If anyone in the boston area could let me borrow some known working parts off of their car for a minute, maybe I could troubleshoot it that way?
Any other suggestions?
Thanks for the help,
Chris R.
