If you want power, flow is essential. A turbo faced with a large pressure drop across the IC works hard to overcome this and hurts efficiency. Poor efficiency has far reaching effects on power output and consistency, as well as turbo life. Reducing the load on the turbo by implementing an intercooler which exhibits good flow characterstics will make your car run cooler and stronger. Of course, proper fuel tuning is essential.
A high flow intercooler coupled with water injection is an optimal setup when faced with the high boost pressures we run on SAABs.
I use a Spearco 18x6x3in core on my SPG. I also have an upgraded turbo. My car pulls very hard except immediately after stop and go traffic on hot days. This is where H2O would help.
Regards,
Andy
