Quaife can't handle the power?

Okay, no experience with Quaifes in Saab applications but enough otherwise.
First off, there's damn few clutch-type limited slips that are going to be (a) driveable and (b) durable in street FWD applications. I'm sure there's one out there, but I can't think of any. I wouldn't buy one.
Secondly, Quaifes in the applications I'm familiar with live quite happily up to 500-600HP and maybe more. IF they're kept lubricated and IF the lubricant is kept to a reasonable working temperature.
Quaifes - and Torsens, and Tochigi Fujis, and Gold Tracs, and Peloquins, all of which are similar helical-gear designs - generate heat. The more wheelslip, the more heat. So, if you're running open-track/track-school events, and particularly if you're running a bag more than stock HP, you *must* instrument the lube temps and you *may* need a cooler and pump. Even synthetic lubes don't like temps much above 280degF.
As for cornering behavior - they transfer torque away from a slipping wheel. They don't care about wheel speed differences. This can make the car 'hunt' somewhat when accelerating hard over uneven surfaces. In cornering, though, this behavior is usually very desirable, as it produces a near-RWD 'throttle-steerability'. They can amplify torque/deflection steer so getting wheel offset right is important.
General rule of thumb is that in track use a Quaife is worth 1 to 2 sec/mile off your lap times vs an open diff, and in a big, heavy, tall car like a Saab (or a Taurus SHO) that number may be conservative.
