also check all the caliper slide pinns make sure that th ey are lubed & working properly if a pin sticks hte caliper has to flex to aply both pads & when you let off the pedal it will push the piston/s back in & the further the piston has to extend to aply the pads the more play you will have in the pedal
the thing about any master adj is that if yu actualy push the cups in the master foward at al the cups will go beyond the holes up into the res what this does is as the fluid expands from heat if it cant go into the res it will aply the brakes so if yu do end up lenthening the rodjust make sure you only take up mechanical slack in the lincage to the master NOT hydraulic slack
