On an older car like your 90', you will have a fairly permanent shadow in your paint that will be very difficult to remove. You have quite a contrast between paint that has seen 15 years of exposure and paint that has been "sealed off" under your emblems for 15 years. More often, the shadow is less of a paint contrast and more of *permantly* bonded residue from 15 years of old adhesive. Either way, the best solution would be wet-sanding, followed up with some D-A polishing. I have an old 89TC that I de-badged, and the results were similiar to yours, (maybe worse since it's white.) Anyway, the ghost letters look much better, but if you catch it in the light at a certain angle, you can always see them, that is unless, you want to re-paint $$$. Good luck. ;o)
