Well, so I recently dropped in a 3bar FPR in my car, in order to supply enough fuel for increased boost levels w/a G9 Stage II APC. I do notice that I am getting really lousy mileage (looks like it's dropped to about 18mpg from around 22mpg in town). I'm also running Brad's AID, which is adjustable depending on what timing one is running. I currently have my base timing set at 20BTDC and timing under max boost at 10BTDC. What are folks here running, and what effect does it have on mileage? Am I missing something, or is the case that if you are running increased fuel pressure setups, it's ok to crank the timing up a few more degrees? I realize that the timing curve might suffer, but will this increase off boost fuel efficiency? Is a BTM-type thing the only way to deal with this properly?
I know that there could be a number of reasons for lower fuel efficiency, and I am looking to these (plugs, cap, rotor, wires are all new within a year; I will check the plugs tomorrow though!) But I wanted to bring up the more general topic of what timing/fuel combo works best. What are folks here running as far as timing/fuel?
My mods so far:
-stock injectors cleaned and balanced, flow sheet shows 24# at 3bar
-3bar FPR
-Brad's AID, set to 20 deg base, 10 deg max boost
-G9 stage II APC
-high-flow cat
